What Type Of Small Business Should I Start?

I started thinking about owning my own business around 2007.  

What type of business should I start? I knew it had to be one that caters to children of all ages. I honestly had no idea what direction I was going to go when it came to owning this type of business. Until something finally clicked, I thought long and hard about what I had fond memories of from my childhood.  

Isn’t life all about creating memories? What peaked my interest when it came to my memories? I had to think about my childhood and where I was most of the time and what I enjoyed doing at that time. It would be the times I went to work with my father. During this time I would play among-st our cake decorations. Dreaming about the Disney cake decoration and wishing I was there in that scene. I wanted to learn how to make all the background colors using the air brush machine.  

I also enjoyed watching the cake decorators make up roses for the cakes. The pedals of the roses seemed impossible to do and as much as I watched them perform their magic, I struggled with understanding how they did something artistic with icing. When I got older I attempted and struggled making roses. The rose foundation was made with soft icing, and this soft icing base made it impossible for me to build from. As I spun the ‘nail’ to make the rose pedal around the center base, it would look like a circle around the base of the nail. Since, that time I had learned you must have a firm foundation for the pedals to rest on, which required a firmer icing. Much like our lives, we must have a firm foundation.

Decorating Cakescreation

I thought long and hard about owning and operating a bakery.  But, that is not the direction I wanted to go. Mostly, because, there is too much labor and expense involved in all that. Then, I thought what did I enjoy doing with my father?  I do know it was us spending time together. Although, there was so much hustle and bustle at the bakery. I waited patiently to par-tack in something.  

During the holidays I loved seeing all the product turn into a beautiful masterpiece to be sold. My most favorite items were the Easter bunny cakes; they were made with cake and filled with buttercream icing, then they were covered in a hard coat of chocolate. After the icing hardened they were decorated to look like a cute bunny. They tasted oh so good. Each bunny was adorable they had big floppy ears.  I also, enjoyed the Gingerbread Houses and the large cookies with thick amounts of icing on them. 

Summing It All Up

It was the holidays the time we all spent together. I ran with those memories and tested them at my daughter’s birthday party. Let’s just say that my daughter was my test for what I wasn’t sure was going to pan out. The birthday party was a hit, everyone loved the activity. I ran my business ideas by them. They encouraged me to move forward with my idea. 

Let’s Go Shopping

I made a bunch of small investments; purchased a small convection oven to bake the cupcakes (it was too small).  I bought icing bags, tips and decorations.  

Seeking Out Bargains

I started looking for items that were for sale, most of my bakery supplies came from places going out of business.  During this time I used my income to purchase all my start-up items.  I bargained shopped, I bought thousands of dollars worth of stuff for barely anything.   
I applied for the necessary business license to own and operate my very own business, which was rather exciting and nerve-racking at the same time.  

Gotta Start Some Where

I started by doing my business out of my home which meant going to other people’s homes to teach the children how to make, bake and decorate.  

Location, Location, Location

I left one of the events thinking about how much I enjoyed giving these children the experience of getting in the kitchen and baking to their heart’s content.  Most of these children told me, my parents do not want me in the kitchen making a mess.  It broke my heart hearing this from their mouths. Children need to know how to function in the kitchen.  So, off I went with my mind full of ideas as I drove away. So, off I went making way for The Baker’s Daughter.  I was not thrilled with my first business location, when it came to the amenities I had to work with but, I made the best of it.  

The owners of the property wanted no food operation at this business location.  But, when I told them what I wanted to do, they supported me. The owner’s became near and dear to my heart.  I was at this particular location for about two years. During this time our landlord spouse passed away from cancer.  After his passing their son took over for his father.  When our lease was about to expire, we started looking for another location. My spouse at the time found two great buildings and another wonderful family for landlords.  

Media

I had the honor of being on the local news three different times, two of the three times were at my first business location and the other time was at the news station.  A large local newspaper came out and took pictures and asked me a lot of questions about our family bakery business that we owned (Cramer’s Bakery) on Freeport Blvd, Sacramento, CA , the newspaper writer and photographer looked at some old bakery items including our family bakeries recipes. The large local newspaper ended up writing a large article in the local newspaper that ended up bringing me lots of business and requests to make some old recipes from our bakery, (this is another book that is in the works).  

After the article was written, I received an email from an old lost friend because, her sister happened to read the article in the newspaper and asked my friend is this is the same Shonna?  My friend and I were friends in high school but, something bad happened that caused us to lose contact.  I will talk about this later.

Moved

The Baker’s Daughter new location was in Rancho Cordova, CA it was an amazing location.  I was slammed with more business because of the location and the facility.  Slammed meaning I was the sole owner and operator, I was working a full-time job, married, raising two children and going to college.  

Ages and stages

I had no age restrictions when it came to children, this was a children’s place, one party at a time place.  Children of all ages would celebrate their birthday, holiday festivities, school and homeschooling field trips. They would learn how to make, bake and decorate from a third generation baker, or should I say the baker’s daughter. I taught the children by using everyday kitchen stuff because, I wanted the children to know they can do this in their own homes too.   

Imagination

When it came to the children decorating their own cake, I would tell them your imagination is your only limitation.  
I know this has been said by many, but, we don’t use our God-given imagination anymore.

Sometimes we look to our past successes as a source of happiness and a way to feel good about ourselves.  Instead of being thankful for how the Lord has helped us and worked through us, we begin to look for joy and self-worth in what we have done or where we have come from.

Hurt

It is impossible to go through life without being hurt in some way by the choices and actions of others.
Sometimes the pain we feel from past events can linger into the present, affecting the way we feel about ourselves, others and the Lord.

Mistakes

Sometimes it seems like we will never live down the mistakes of our past.  Our sins seem too large or we thing we have exhausted God’s forgiveness.  Because of the past, we see ourselves as failures, unworthy of grace.

Steps in a Criminal Trial

Criminal trial steps for a person accused of a crime. A person cannot be convicted if they are absent forcing the trial to be postponed. 

A criminal trial typically proceeds in this order:

  1. Jury – The jury pool is seated and each side begins picking members of the jury.
  2. Jury / Judge – The jury is sworn in by the judge.
  3. Prosecution – The prosecution gives its opening statement, explaining the defendant’s alleged crimes to the jury and the basis for charging him.  The prosecution will describe the evidence it will offer and discuss the determination of guilt or innocence that the jury must make.
  4. Defense – If the defendant chooses, the defendant’s attorney makes the defendants opening statement.
  5. Witnesses – The court orders the prosecution to proceed with its case by calling witnesses.  Witnesses will be sworn in and questioned by the prosecutor and cross-examined by the defense. The defense is under no obligation to cross-examine prosecution witnesses. Some witnesses will identify certain documents and records, such as crime scene photographs, which is introduced into evidence and shown to the jury.
  6. Prosecution – The prosecution concludes it case by “closing.” Once the case is closed, the prosecution is prohibited from “opening” it again by offering additional proof, evidence or testimony, other than rebuttal evidence that contradicts the defense’s case.
  7. Defense – The court asks the defense to proceed with its case. The defendant is not required to prove their innocence, it is not uncommon for defense counsel to choose not to call witnesses, nor offer evidence. The case for reasonable doubt of the defendant’s guilt is most often made through cross-examination of prosecution witnesses. The defense rests and can make a closing argument at that time.
  8. Prosecutor – The prosecutor makes their closing argument.
  9. Judge – The judge instructs or “charges” the jury, explaining its duties in determining guilt or innocence.
  10. Jury – The jury returns a verdict, which is read by the judge or court clerk. In some instances the jury cannot make a decision, in which case, a mistrial should occur and the case will be tried again. 
  11. Defendant – If the defendant is acquitted, the defendant will be released and free to go at the moment of acquittal. If the defendant is convicted, the defendant will remain in custody and then sentenced by the judge or jury. Sentencing may be immediate for the defendant or it may be part of a separate legal procedure, it’s all dependent on the state.

Speedy Trial

The U.S. Constitution requires that an impartial jury try criminal defendants within a reasonable time after they are arrested. Most states have set a minimum time in which a defendant must be tried. The time limit is often not enforceable due to the circumstances of the case, such as its complexity, the availability of witnesses and other proof.

In federal court, the case against a defendant must be tried within 70 days after an indictment or an appearance before the judge, whichever is later.

Do I have to ask for a speedy trial? Yes. most states require you to ask for a speedy trial in order to trigger the timeline. A written demand should always be made, even if it is not required, so the prosecutor has unequivocal notice of your request.

I want a speedy trial, but my attorney still needs time to prepare.

Can a trial start right away? No. In federal court, a trial cannot begin sooner than 30 days after your first appearance before a judge. You have at least 30 days to prepare for trial and, unless you agree in writing otherwise, the case will not be tried before that time. Most states follow the federal rule to some extent.

Are speedy trial time limits applicable in extradition cases? No, in extradition cases, the time for trial is extended while extradition matters are decided.

Extradition is the handing over by a government of the defendant who is accused of a crime in a different country or state for trial or punishment by another jurisdiction. Extradition cases have their own legal timeline that precede deadlines for a speedy trial.

My trial has been delayed time and again.

What do I do to show my right to a speedy trial has been violated and get the charges against me dismissed? The attorney must file a motion to dismiss the charges based on violations of your constitutional right to a speedy trial.

The charges will be dismissed if you can show: that you, in fact, asked for a speedy trial; invalid reasons for the delay; a length of delay that is unreasonable; and prejudice you suffered as a result of the delay.

Delays

If the delay has been many years, the charges may be dismissed without any showing on your part. If I have asked for a speedy trial, why can the prosecutor delay it? The prosecution has the right, just as a defendant does, to request a continuance or delay in the trial date.

Good Cause – The prosecutor must show good cause for the delay, such as unavailable witnesses, illness or new evidence.

Continuance – The first request for a continuance is typically granted and furthermore, the granting of a continuance by the judge does not violate your constitutional right to a speedy trial.

Waved Speedy Trial – A defendant may waive her right to a speedy trial in order to gain time to prepare a defense. Once waved, defendant cannot complain that the prosecution was slow in bringing the case to trial. Additionally, defendants often delay their own cases by changing attorneys. Thereby frustrating the prosecutor’s attempt to gain a quick conviction. A defendant who demanded a speedy trial must be tried before the date required in the trial timeline. If a defendant’s right to a speedy trial has been violated. The court may dismiss the charges against the defendant.

Reasonable Doubt

All criminal trials turn on the issue of “reasonable doubt.” When reasonable doubt exists, a jury cannot convict the defendant. Prior to a jury’s attempt to reach a verdict. The court instructs the jury that the defendant is presumed innocent, this presumption remains intact unless, guilt is found beyond a “reasonable doubt”. There is no official definition of “reasonable doubt” that is used in criminal cases. Many courts do not define “reasonable doubt” for the jury.

Reasonable doubt has been described as “the real possibility” that the defendant is not guilty. Indecision has to be so great that the jury does not have a certainty of guilt. It is not necessary that all doubt be extinguished, or that a scientific certainty of the defendant’s guilt exists in order for a jury to convict.

Innocence​

The prosecution has the burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt in all criminal cases. At no time during trial does the burden of proof shift to the defendant to prove innocence. The defendant is not required to prove their innocence, nor, is the defendant to present any facts that might raise “reasonable doubt” in the minds of the jury.

My Days

My beloved soul mate, I hope this letter finds you well and blessed. It was so nice to hear your beautiful voice last night (as always) and Madison sounds so grown up. I’m so proud of her and how well she is doing, I’m proud of both of them! The kids are awesome people, they have a good, strong, smart, beautiful and capable mother who loves them and supports them.

Can you believe that woman who is an amazing and wonderful woman is in love with me. Thank you, Lord for such a treasure in my life and beyond.

Today, the wind stopped and we enjoyed a warm sunny day. Oh, and the airport I can see from my window, it only seems about 10 miles away as the crow fly’s but, I guess that would take a bit by car in the city. Cannot wait to kiss your sweet little lips, see your angelic face and look into your beautiful eyes. Just makes me melt, I know I’m goofy and mushy for you, sorry.

My vocation went well today. Crazy it’s only 3 hours not the 7 hours it should be. I found out today that all vocations are being split in half in California, I guess that is CDC’s answer to the new milestone benefits. The powers to be double (or more) our milestone benefits to not only reward and promote good behavior but, also assist in lowering prison population.

Officers Evil Ways

In response to that (actually in retaliations) C.D.C.R. cut the hours for credit earning vocations in half! How can our state government allow such insubordinate behavior on so many levels? C.D.C.R. does not comply with policy, procedure or law at all! C.D.C.R. and C.C.P.O.A. continues to bully our local, state and federal government and with absolutely no negative reaction.

These $100,000 per year professionals like, cheat and steal their way through glorious careers, then, retire in comfort.

Abused

A couple of weeks ago during the “integration” a correctional officer shot an inmate right in the face, at point-blank range with a block gun. Depriving the inmate of the use of that eye for the rest of his life! The co/o collectively wrote a report describing him as an out of control combatant that was accidentally injured. Due to his refusal to stop engaging in a physical fight with other inmates.

Force, had to be used to the serious nature of the confrontation. I understand B.S. report writing 101 because, I taught it and used it my self for many years! Truth is officers in riot gear were waiting (laying in wait) for “SNY” inmates ordered to migrate with “mainline” inmates to go to school.

Main Line

Main line inmate collected in a large group around a corner and waited for the “SNY” inmates to engage them. All in plain view of C.D.C.R. officers and staff! As “SNY” inmates came around the corner they were jumped on by the “mainline” inmates. C.D.C.R. uniformed officers opened fire with chemical agents, black guns and a ton of strikes using (impact weapons). 

As a result of this altercation many inmates were injured, most of which “SNY” that is ta-tick that has been used many times over the past few months. Ending with the same results and always ordered by the warden of this facility! Afterword, the inmate population witnesses officers laughing, high five-in each other and yelling things like “welcome to prison.” Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time, etc. professional huh?

California Tax Payers

So, lets set aside the face these men/women/trans gender make $80k-$125k per year and we have teachers that must strike to get 60% of that or that these same people carry firearms in public. We must ask ourselves is this rehabilitation? What is the collateral damage of such corruption and poor treatment? Is it fair to call the taxpayers of California co-victims of such a system?

Then, we wonder why inmates suffer from so many mental health issues and show such anger and hatred. Hmm, I wonder why? Just a thought, sorry, all I want to do is come home to my family and put this nightmare of false conviction and imprisonment behind us!

Remaining Hopeful

Come on 9th circuit, gee sh, truth be told if they reverse my conviction, clear my record and give us a reasonable settlement. I’d take my family and we would move quietly out of this state. Okay, I’m done, not meaning to go on about these things. Not only do I need to release them but, I want you to know these things in case something happens to me here.

I am glad to hear your job is going much better. Although, I do still want to open a small family business at some point when, I come home. I am going to use every resource the state provides for post-release inmate to achieve success. But at first any job I can acquire will be fine and any post release vocational classes or school I can attend I will!

Opportunities

Last I saw on a list from parole was truck driving school, cosmology (nope) culinary, auto mechanics and H.V.A.C.  I will take whatever they have available in our area (besides cos-mo). I hear as of this year paralegal is now also available. Maybe, I can go to McGeorge School of Law? If that ever becomes available in here (Prison) I will be all over it! Not even sure what they make or what they can do on their own (not working for a lawyer) but, I am sure it would be good for us either way, just a thought.

No mail today and they didn’t want to pass out mail yesterday so maybe tomorrow. I do however get to hear your angelic voice tomorrow. So, I guess I will close for now my love. I miss, love, appreciate, adore and desire you very much! all my love forever. please give my love and greetings to mom and kids.

Prophetic Word Spoken

Purpose

It was on June 15, 2016 that I heard my prophetic word spoken to me. Mission Fields

I see you climbing the ladder, and up and up you are going, I hear the sound of trumpets I see The Word written in bold letters 

SALVATION

I see you climbing a very steep a very beautiful mountain. From the top of the mountain you hear the voice of The Lord. He is encouraging you my daughter, my daughter, keep moving, keep moving, moving.
 
I’m showing you the burning bushexperience is coming in your life.
 
I see you flying, you are circling that hill and again your going to hear the sound of the trumpet. I hear the angels singing holy, holy, holy is The Lord God Almighty. Again, I hear you circling the mountain.  You are flying and the engines are carrying you around my mountain. 
 
The Lord says you have come thus far you have wished you climb this mountain and now you will hear the voice of The Lord. Be still and know that I am your Lord and I am your God. 
 
That God is like a guiding star, I am your shepherd, I am guiding you. Hear the voice of the trumpet, it is time it is time to go for I see The Word.

Evangelist

I see The Word career women. I hear The Word mother to many nations. I see children coming to you, I see young people running to you. 
 
The Lord says you are my precise target. The Lord says your name will not be brought-en out in the book of life. The Lord says your name. I have your name, my daughter of mine. I have engraved in the palm of my hand in the beautiful block letters in Gold.  
 
I see rainbow raindrops coming down, little diamonds, like little pearl balls by the sea. These are diamonds coming down on you upon you. I see you standing by the sea in the golden letters again. I see you writing the words Salvation to many and come quickly The Lord is telling you. 
 
The Lord says people are dying, what you going to do about it? Keep moving, faster. Now, The Lord says it is time, it is fast paced it is fast forward times.

Evangelism 

China, Uganda, P.    , Bolivia, Puerto Rico,Time square. I see the sports stadium filled with people, no sports going on just the sound of music the music and the love of Christ  John 3:16

I hear the sound of music again The Lord is telling you great is thy calling you super women, wonder women they will call you. Because, I see you moved and shifted them. Fast forward quickly you are doing so many multi-tasking you are doing many things at the same time. 

The Word outside of the church needs the love. The world outside of the church needs compassion. The world outside the church needs to embrace in this in and through worship, I hear the sound of music.

I am receiving the name Hawaii,Puerto Rico, Salvador, Nicaragua, Nigeria, P…., S.Pacific.

Perseverance

You will hear the sound of music coming from the S.Pacific and there is a place you have always wanted and you will be going there. The Lord says to you, I will shelter. I will comfort you. 

The Lord says my grace is sufficient for you, for all seasons for, it is my grace that has brought you so far, thus far be still.

The Lord says, I will make you a spokesperson of many nations. You will be quieter, you will be still and know that I will be doing the orchestration beloved daughter of mine.

Not thy will, but, my will be done, keep seeking, keep asking, and keep pushing forward. Perseverance is the key, it’s not by mighty it’s not power but, by The Holy Spirit say it The Lord.

Evangelism

I see the door is being broken and opening the door is the angel of The Lord leading you. I see 7 doors marked and The Word marked for perfection and the arrow that will go on the door.

You will not be used for target practice The Lord says you will be marked for perfection. I will use you, you are not a blunt arrow but you are my sharp shooter arrow.

Romania,Tasmania,Romania,Puerto Rico (again) Salvador (again). Mission field, mission field, mission field. Children, children and women bruised. Women, beaten women and abused women.

Keep moving says The Lord, deliver sugar, sugar cane area, sugar cane land.

Pacific Ocean the sound of music the sound of the trumpet the sound of revival.

Opened Doors and Exits

I have opened doors and open exists for you, say it The Lord. The season of revival, is upon thee, say it The Lord. Thus, I have established it and quickly you will enter the rem and the dominion!  All is well in my court sayeth The Lord. Jeremiah 33

Promise of Restoration

33 While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the Lord came to him a second time: 

2 “This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: 

3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ 

4 For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says about the houses in this city and the royal palaces of Judah that have been torn down to be used against the siege-ramps and the sword 

5 in the fight with the Babylonians: ‘They will be filled with the dead bodies of the people I will slay in my anger and wrath. I will hide my face from this city because of all its wickedness. 

Forgiveness

6 “‘Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security. 

7 I will bring Judah and Israel back from captivity and will rebuild them as they were before. 

8 I will cleanse them from all the sin they have committed against me and will forgive all their sins of rebellion against me. 

9 Then this city will bring me renown, joy, praise and honor before all nations on earth that hear of all the good things I do for it; and they will be in awe and will tremble at the abundant prosperity and peace I provide for it.’ 

Thankfulness

10 “This is what the Lord says: ‘You say about this place, “It is a desolate waste, without people or animals.” Yet in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted, inhabited by neither people nor animals, there will be heard once more 

11 the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the Lord, saying, “Give thanks to the Lord Almighty,for the Lord is good; his love endures forever.” For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,’ says the Lord. 

12 “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In this place, desolate and without people or animals—in all its towns there will again be pastures for shepherds to rest their flocks. 

13 In the towns of the hill country, of the western foothills and of the Negev, in the territory of Benjamin, in the villages around Jerusalem and in the towns of Judah, flocks will again pass under the hand of the one who counts them,’ says the Lord. 

Righteous

14 “‘The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will fulfill the good promise I made to the people of Israel and Judah.

15 “‘In those days and at that timeI will make a righteous Branch sprout from David’s line; he will do what is just and right in the land. 

16 In those days Judah will be savedand Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the name by which it will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior.’ 

17 For this is what the Lord says: ‘David will never fail to have a man to sit on the throne of Israel, 

18 nor will the Levitical priests ever fail to have a man to stand before me continually to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings and to present sacrifices.’” 

The Word of God

19 The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 

20 “This is what the Lord says: ‘If you can break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night, so that day and night no longer come at their appointed time,

21 then my covenant with David my servant—and my covenant with the Levites who are priests ministering before me—can be broken and David will no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne. 

22 I will make the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who minister before me as countless as the stars in the sky and as measureless as the sand on the seashore.’” 

23 The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 

24 “Have you not noticed that these people are saying, ‘The Lord has rejected the two kingdoms he chose’? So they despise my people and no longer regard them as a nation. 

The Laws

25 This is what the Lord says: ‘If I have not made my covenant with day and night and established the laws of heaven and earth, 

26 then I will reject the descendants of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his sons to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. For I will restore their fortunes and have compassion on them.’”

Call unto me and I will show you great and mighty things, sayeth The Lord. I have established it from the beginning of time. I have engraved your name on the palm of my hand, can anyone erase it and the answer is my daughter is, No!

I have called you for the precise season and the precise time, called to conquer. I will give you a generous nation be glad and rejoice.

I have done a good thing women rise up and walk and a season will come and you will run! Walking will be over and you will jumbo jet to your precise destinations. Sayeth your God Almighty and The Father is nodding in agreement, be blessed.

 

Prophetic Blessing Is A Spoken Declaration

I thought of you when I read this quote from “The Power of the Prophetic Blessing: An Astonishing Revelation for a New Generation” by John –

“The Prophetic Blessing is a spoken declaration by a spiritual authority over the life of an individual. The words of the blessing carry the power to control and direct the life of the person over whom they have been spoken. Prophetic Word – 3rd follow-up

At my last hair appointment my friend asked me if I thought about baking ever again.  I said, no, but,I do miss the time I spent with the kids. My friend also brought up ways in doing my prior baking by doing it with battered women and children.  This conversation is another follow up to the prophetic word spoken to me.

Shared my limitations

I told her my limitations at the moment, she reminded there are lots of ways to make this happen; pursing grants, funding, etc.

I know my idea had impacted many…

  • because, of the memories that were created
  • because, of the lesson learned
  • because, of the outcome

Battered Or Much Kneaded

Battered and Kneaded Bread

Its your choice when it comes to making battered kneaded breads.

Battered Breads

  • made by mixing
  • can be coarser
  • have one rise

Kneaded Breads

  • dough can be kneaded by hand or you can use a heavy-duty mixer using a dough hook.
  • the dough can be shaped by mixing or kneading the dough by hand.
  • the kneading develops gluten from protein in the flour
  • bread dough will have even texture and after rolling the bread in the palm of your hand it will eventually have a smooth rounded top.
  • let the dough sit for 15 minutes at room temperature
  • cover and refrigerate for up to 4 hours to slow the rising process then gently push your fist into the dough to deflate it
How to get a rise out of your dough is rather simple
  • grease a large bowl (twice as large as the dough) using shortening or cooking spray,
  • add the dough to the greased bowl turning it so all sides of the dough are greased.
  • cover the bowl of greased dough with SaranWrap
  • set this bowl on a rack in a warm draft-free place. over a bowl of hot water will help speed up the process

Glazing Bread

  • Shiny crust – beat an egg with a little water
  • Sprinkle toppings; rolled oats, poppy seeds, caraway, sesame seeds, rosemary, endless ways these days.
  • Golden brown crust – brush with softened butter or margarine
  • Crisp crust – brush or spray lightly with water
  • Soft, tender crust – brush with milk     

Be Creative 

  • Slash the top of the bread with a sharp serrated knife (1/4 inch depth in the center of the bread)
Baking 
  • adjust oven racks
  • center the pan, sheets or stoneware in the middle of the oven not touching anything else.
  • crisp, brown crust, bake on stoneware sprinkled with cornmeal.

Storage Instructions

  • store in a cool, dry place for 5-7 days.
  • refrigerator causes bread to become stale faster
  • freeze 2-3 months
